One of nature's most awe-inspiring spectacles - a total Solar Eclipse - will take place this time next week on the New Moon. It is visible only in the Southern Hemisphere.
For those of us in the North, there is always the Internet.
Apparently, the next visible total solar eclipse in Canada (& in NL!) is on April 8, 2024.
Only a few short years after that and we are upon 2041 - and we all know what a special date that will be in our province's history.
No doubt another thing eclipsed in our province by then is our hard-earned money by the Muskrat Fails debt.
A Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the moon passes in front of the sun - totally "eclipsing" the solar disc for a few short moments... kinda reminds one of Bill 29 - only lasting forever and a day.
To add to the cosmic show, there is also a lunar eclipse coming up at the end of the month - we're missing that one too ... of course there is the ever reliable Internet.
So ... lots to dazzle us with in the sky this November.
Down here on earth, the Legislature opens on Nov 19th;
and the only thing government will try and dazzle us with are their theatrics , histrionics and political maneuverings...
Shame really, that a "new energy" government couldn't take a new age spiritual inspiration - for the sake of the collective good - and imitate the heavens this month and dazzle us with the accountability, transparency, collaboration and just plain ol dazzling decency.
Oh well, we can always wish upon a star ...or an eclipse (or two!).
